Cyril Verdavainne carved a spot for himself on the American fashion landscape when he launched his label, VERDAVAINNE, in 2018.

Cyril was 40 years old, working as the right hand to American designer Carmen Marc Valvo designing affordable women's evening wear, when in 2018, the company closed its doors.  It was then, after having spent 15 years at Valvo and prior to that, training as an illustrator at Pierre Balmain and Thierry Mugler, that the French graduate from Parsons School of Design in Paris and New York created VERDAVAINNE, a sophisticated new women's evening couture collection.  Cyril had a vision to create a brand that empowered women to express their authentic beauty through an elevated custom design experience.

In 2020, while the world stopped, Cyril was busy planning his next collection.  He remembered his earlier focus on being conservative and thinking he had to restrain his creativity.  He laughed, “I am done with being safe!"   He recalled his days in Paris. The memory of the unhinged design mentality and lavish fashion shows reignited a flame in him.  He began to create gowns featuring bolder shapes, intricate fabrics from Europe, and using the color palette from his childhood in Casablanca.

VERDAVAINNE then started to draw the attention of specialty stores and Saks Fifth Avenue, who would begin to book the collections for trunk shows nationwide.

Today, VERDAVAINNE is a unique and sophisticated collection, each piece beautifully hand-crafted in Cyril’s Manhattan atelier.

Fit and attention to detail show in every piece.  While the company produces dresses in sizes, Cyril insists on body measurement accuracy for all custom orders, respecting each client’s unique body proportions as part of the personalized custom design experience he likes to offer.

VERDAVAINNE is a luxurious reflection of Cyril’s journey over the last two decades in the fashion industry, which has taken him from Casablanca to London, Paris to New York City, where he currently resides.
